I like this one Dave. Bees fascinate me and I didn't know they appeared on gravestones. The Coffey name is a distant one in my own Irish ancestry.

Another really interesting piece David. There’s something really powerful about how a single symbol on stone opens out into an entire human life like this. The beehive becomes less about decoration and more about character, industry, connection, and quiet civic influence. I especially like the restraint in the conclusion: you don’t force certainty about Hugh McCormack’s role in the Underground Railroad, but you still let the pattern of his life speak.
