How sad that he had to carve hs own son's headstone. How serendipitious you twisted to see the back side of the stone. Looking forward to part 2.

Incredible genealogical detective work. The moment of spinning around and spotting "MADE BY HIS FATHER" is the kindof serendipity that makes research so addictive. Morris carving from age 57 to 83 means physical limitations probably shaped some design choices, which most analyses of folk art totaly overlook. The Presbyterian cemetery connection is really telling too.
